The Great Eastern is in a fascinating area rich with history within walking distance of Greenwich, the Cutty Sark Museum, and the Royal Observatory. We have views of Greenwich and the 02 Arena from across the river Thames which is just metres from our location!

Accommodation Information
Our newly refurbished accommodation rooms are brand new and suitable for both individuals and group accommodation. We offer a variety of dorm rooms including female-only dorms with en suite, mixed dorms with en suite and mixed dorms with shared bathroom facilities.
We are sure that you will find something to suit your requirements and budget.
All rooms are temperature controlled, comfortable, clean and secure with access to multiple bathroom and shower facilities.
Bed linen is included in the price, however you will need to bring your own towel- or you can rent one from us!
You will really be staying at the best place to relax as all of our mattresses and bunks are brand new (April 2011). We have found the best inner spring bunk bed sized mattress on the market and ensure that it is prepared by 2pm ready for your comfort after a long days travelling and sightseeing.
Our bathroom facilities are cleaned throughout the day to ensure they are fresh 24/7!

With each of our friendly group hostels being situated above traditional London Pubs we are ideal for Hen and Stag Accommodation. Unfortunately we are unable to accept school groups or groups under 18 years of age for licensing reasons.

Nearest Tube Stop: Island Gardens, DLR Directions to the Great Eastern When you arrive at Island Gardens station, exit the station and turn left walking down the road. If you look up you will see a church steeple that is located in the same road we are so that is a good landmark for where you are heading to. Continue down the road for approximately 150 metres then take the first road on the right "Glenaffric Avenue" Walk up Glenaffric Avenue and we are the last property on the Right called The Great Eastern. Heathrow
The Piccadilly Line (Underground) connects all Heathrow terminals with frequent services to London (Change at Green Park to Jubilee Line towards Stratford, then change at Canary Wharf to DLR towards Lewisham to get to Island Gardens). National Express operate coach services from London Heathrow Airport to London Victoria (not 24 hours) Between midnight and 5.30am, the N9 night bus runs every 30 minutes to Central London (Trafalgar Square).
Gatwick
First Capital Connect Rail Service to London Bridge. National Express run a direct coach service to London Victoria (24 hours) Easybus runs low-cost frequent airport transfer service non-stop from Gatwick to Earls Court/West Brompton in central London (24 hours).
Stansted
National Express East Anglia trains to Stratford.
National Express runs coach services to Stratford or Liverpool Street or Victoria (24 hours). easyBus operates a low-cost service to Baker Street (24 hours).
Luton
There is a shuttle bus service that runs from the airport to Luton Airport Parkway Station. Trains from the station run to St Pancras or London Bridge. Green Line 757 provides an express coach link between London Luton Airport and London Victoria (24 hours). National Express run a direct coach service to London Victoria (24 hours). From Central London to the Hostel (Island Gardens DLR) London Underground services run from around 05:30 until around midnight. We recommend that you use the Underground to get to the Hostel when available. When the Underground is closed you will have to use a variety of night buses.
Underground From Victoria Underground take the District Line towards Tower Hill or Upminster or the Circle Line towards Embankment and change at Westminster to the Jubilee Line towards Stratford. Change at Canary Wharf to the DLR towards Lewisham and get off at Island Gardens.
From London Bridge take the Jubilee Line towards Stratford. Change at Canary Wharf to the DLR towards Lewisham and get off at Island Gardens.
